Introduction

Monk is an iOS workout tracker for logging lifts, routines, personal records and body measurements. This privacy policy explains what data the app handles when you use it.

Data We Collect

None. Monk has no accounts, no sign-in, no servers, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting. The app does not connect to the internet, and nothing you enter is ever sent to us or to anyone else.

Data Stored on Your Device

Everything you log is kept only on your iPhone, in the app's private storage:

  • Workouts, sets, routines, folders and exercise notes
  • Custom exercises you create
  • Body measurements you choose to record (for example body weight, body fat and circumference measurements)
  • App settings such as units, rest timer and sound preferences

Like any app's data, this may be included in your device's own iCloud or computer backups if you have those turned on. Those backups are managed by Apple under your Apple Account, not by us. Deleting the app deletes all of its data.

Import, Export and Backups

You can import workout history from a CSV file, and export your data as CSV or a full backup file. These files are only read from, or saved to, a location you pick in the iOS Files app or share sheet. Monk never uploads them anywhere.

Permissions

  • Notifications (optional): used only to alert you when a rest timer finishes. These are local notifications scheduled on your device; no push service is used.
  • Live Activities: shows your workout and rest timer on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. This content is generated on your device.

Health Data

Monk does not read from or write to Apple Health. Fitness information you enter stays inside the app, on your device.

Third-Party Services

The app does not use any third-party services, SDKs, analytics or advertising networks. Exercise illustrations and instructions are bundled inside the app under license from RepDB; displaying them does not contact RepDB. Tapping the RepDB credit in Settings opens their website in your browser, which is subject to their own privacy policy.

Purchases

Monk is free. There are no in-app purchases, subscriptions or ads.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • Names, email addresses or any account information
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers or advertising identifiers
  • Usage or behavioral analytics
  • Crash reports
  • Your workouts, measurements or any other data you log

Children's Privacy

The app does not collect data from users of any age. Because nothing leaves the device, no personal information from children is collected.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
