Frequently Asked Questions
Where is my data stored?
Your workout history is stored on your iPhone. Monk has no account or cloud service. You can choose to export files or connect Apple Health. Deleting the app deletes its local data, so make a backup first (see below).
How do I back up or move to a new phone?
Open Settings (gear icon on the Home tab) → Data & Backup → Back Up Everything (JSON) and save the file to Files or iCloud Drive. On the new phone, install Monk and choose Settings → Data & Backup → Restore from Backup.
Can I import my history from Strong or Hevy?
Yes. Export a CSV from the other app, then in Monk choose Settings → Data & Backup → Import from Strong or Hevy (CSV). Workouts you have already imported are skipped, so importing twice is safe.
How do I switch between kg and lb (or km and miles)?
Settings → Units. You can switch at any time; your history is converted automatically.
The rest timer sound is not playing.
Check Settings → Rest Timer → Rest Timer Sound is on, and that your phone volume is up. When Monk is in the background the sound comes from a notification, so allow notifications for Monk in the iOS Settings app.
The Live Activity or Dynamic Island timer does not show.
In the iOS Settings app, open Monk and make sure Live Activities is turned on. The Live Activity appears once you start a workout.
How do I delete all my data?
Settings → Data & Backup → Delete All Data, or simply delete the app.
